IBM and WorkFlow Studios will put on a 2 day XPages extravaganza in Austin TX on December 1st and 2nd. Day 1 will focus on fundamentals and day 2 will cover some very advanced techniques that we've been using in our own projects at WFS such as:

  • Using the 8.5.2 extension library
  • Creating mobile applications with XPages
  • How to generate servlet output to produce live spreadsheets
  • Incorporating JDBC for SQL data sources
  • How to modify themes and use IBM's oneUI version 2
  • Deconstructing the 8.5.2 Discussion and Wiki templates

Audience
IT Managers, Application Developers, System Administrators and Architects. For Day 1, No prerequisite knowledge of Notes or Domino is required; however, it is recommended that participants have an understanding of their business needs and current IT technologies. Day 2 covers advanced development topics and is more suitable for Senior Developers and Architects.

Speakers:

Lucas Chaney recently joined the Lotus Technical Sales team for the Great West area. His expertise and focus is in the Lotus collaboration suite of products. Thus, he works with Lotus Sametime, Notes & Domino, Expeditor, Connections, and Quickr. He also has some background and knowledge in the Portal suite of products. He has been working with Lotus products since the beginning of 2003. Lucas' first role in his career with IBM included supporting the Lotus Brand educational workshops. In doing so, he lead the workshop development and deployment efforts as the Principal Architect. He developed course material, maintained course material, taught the material, and answered PMRs received from business partners on the Lotus products.

Lance Spellman is the President and Founder of WorkFlow Studios. Lance is a long-time Domino consultant and frequent speaker at conferences and seminars ranging from Lotusphere and The View to user groups and executive briefings. Creator of Dojomino, and an expert at Web API manipulation, Lance has been developing in Notes and Domino since R3, has been certified in both development and administration since R4. He stays at the cutting edge of Domino web development developing sites using everything from JSP and server-side XSL transformations to client-side AJAX and custom toolkits. Most recently, Lance has been pushing the envelope with XPage dojo controls, adhoc reporting, and iPhone development. As president of the WorkFlow Studios team, Lance has worked on projects from large corporate applications to shrink-wrapped projects.
